Mercedes Ferrando, miembro del Grupo de Investigación de Altas Habilidades de la Universidad de Murcia Profesora Titular de Psicología de la Educación en la Universidad de Murcia. He sido becaria de investigación predoctoral, formándome en diferentes universidades (Universidad do Minho, Portugal; Warwick-University, UK; Canterbury-University, UK). Mi Tesis de Licenciatura versó sobre Inteligencias Múltiples y Creatividad y mi Tesis Doctoral sobre Creatividad e Inteligencia Emocional en alumnos de Altas Habilidades. Más tarde, logré una beca posdoctoral Séneca (Región de Murcia) trabajando con el profesor Robert Sternberg (PACE Center-Tufts-University, USA) y Elena Grigorenko (Yale University, USA). He disfrutado de un contrato de investigación Séneca y un "Juan de la Cierva". He sido coordinadora del proyecto CREANET en España y He colaborado en un proyecto de innovación docente para fomentar la creatividad desde el curriculum ordinario en Educación Primaria. También he participado en el diseño de talleres para mejorar el Pensamiento Científico-Creativo de alumnos de Ed. Secundaria con Altas Habilidades. Mi investigación se centra en la creatividad, inteligencia, superdotación y talento.
Mercedes Ferrando, member of research group "High Abilities" at Murcia University. Teacher of Educational Psychology at Murcia University. She graduated with a PhD in gifted and emotional intelligence from Murcia University in 2006, and was a PhD Research Fellow (sponsored by the Spanish Educational Ministry, 2003-2006). Previously, she was a pre-doctoral research fellow at the University of doMinho (Braga, Portugal), a PhD student at Warwick University (Institute of Education, UK, grant sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology), and a PhD student at Canterbury Christ Church University in the Educational Research Centre, UK (sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology). She also was a Ferrando is a post-doctoral Research Fellow at the PACE Center, sponsored by the Seneca Foundation (Regional Agency of Science and Technology, Murcia, Spain). She was the Spanish coordinator of the CREANET project founded by the Lifelong Learning European commision. Her research is focused on creativity, intelligence, gifted and talented children, thinking skills and emotional intelligence. Recently she has been involved in the adaptation of different test to measure creativity in sciences and music.
